Perrysburg Weekender 12-27


It isn't a terribly busy in Perrysburg the coming weekend between Christmas and New Year's Day. But there is still a big comedian coming to town, carriage rides, and plenty of high school sports events. 


The American Red Cross is hosting a blood drive at Signature Harley Davidson called Black and Orange give Red from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Donors must have a valid ID. To schedule an appointment or find out more information, call 419-873-2453. Signature Harley Davidson is located at 1176 Professional Dr. in Perrysburg. 


At the Funny Bone Comedy Club: Fat Fish Blue, 6140 Levis Commons Blvd., comedian Gary Owen has shows at 8 and 10:30 p.m. on Friday, 7 and 10 p.m. on Saturday, and 7 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Owen is the host of All-Star Comedy Jam which is touring the country. He has been on the show House of Payne, and was in the movie Daddy Day Care.


It is the last Saturday of horse-drawn carriage rides at Levis Commons from 5 to 8 p.m. It costs $5 per person, or $10 per family. Pick-up is located on Chappel Drive near Schakolad Chocolate Factory.


Rave Cinemas 12 in Levis Commons will have plenty of big Christmas blockbusters showing all weekend. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (PG-13), The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (PG), The Wolf of Wall Street (R), The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (PG-13 also in 3D), and 47 Ronin (PG-13) are all being shown throughout the weekend.


Tom Turner will play at Stella's restaurant in downtown Perrysburg on Friday. Elixer will perform on Saturday.

The Bradberries will play at J. Patrick's Pub at the Holiday Inn French Quarter Friday and Saturday from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.


At 7 p.m. Friday, the Perrysburg varsity boys basketball team plays Bedford.

At 7 p.m. Friday, the Perrysburg varsity hockey team plays at Bedford.

At 8 a.m. Saturday, the Perrysburg swim team will compete in the Little Giant Invitational.

At 6 p.m. Saturday, the Perrysburg gymnastics team competes in a meet at Maumee.

At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, the Perrysburg varsity boys basketball team plays Whitmer.

At 8 p.m. Saturday, the Perrysburg varsity hockey team plays Sylvania Southview.
