Concert to aid autism families

Project iAm will host its seventh annual Acoustics for Autism jam Sunday at the Village Idiot in Maumee. The free day-long concert benefits families who have been affected by autism by providing information, resources, support, and financial assistance. The show will include two stages and an outdoor tent, where more than 30 bands and musical acts will perform. This year's lineup includes Kelly White, Paper Planes, the Reese Dailey Band, Bob and John Show, Flabongo Nation, Arctic Clam, Kyle White, and Maumee Municipal Judge Gary Byers. The music starts at noon and ends at 2 a.m. This event is family friendly and will include children's activities. There also will be a silent auction, raffles, and a foosball competition. ● The Greater Toledo Train & Toy Show will roll into the Student Health and Activities Center on the Perrysburg campus of Owens Community College on Sunday. The show will feature more than 250 dealers with trains and toys from all eras: plastic, tin, diecast, pop culture, and much more. Free appraisals and repair advice will be offered, as well as original parts for sale. Many famous layouts and exhibits will be operating throughout the day, including: the "LEGO Big City" layout presented by the Michigan Lego Users Group and layouts from area groups in all gauges of toy trains, from N to G scale. New this year is an Erector Set dealer display featuring toys from the 1920s. Other highlights include free train rides for children ages 4 and under. Doors are open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and admission is $6 for adults. Children 12 and under are admitted free with an adult. Early bird admission is $8 and doors open at 9 a.m. Parking is free. ● Juicy J and DJ Paul, of the Academy Award winning hip-hop act Three 6 Mafia, will perform tonight at Mainstreet Bar & Grill. Now performing under the name Da Mafia6, Juicy J and DJ Paul, will bring their unique brand of rap and southern hip hop to the East Toledo venue, with Twisted Insane, Whitney Peyton, T-jaks and several others opening the show. The two founding members of Three 6 Mafia have been entertaining for more than 20 years and in 2006 won Best Original Song for the single It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp, featured in the film Hustle & Flow.
