Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800.

For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

 

Dogs killed

Dogs killed March 18-19 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

“Pit bull” mix, brindle and white female, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (extreme dog aggression, dog had attacked several other dogs, according to owner), surrendered by Monica Martinez, Sunset Boulevard, Toledo.

Basset hound/beagle mix, white and black female, unlicensed, bite history, surrendered by Tracy Woodbury, Northridge Drive, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” tan and white female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/dog aggression (scored 4 out of 4, evaluated March 18), Utah Street, Toledo, running at large.

Soft-coated wheaten terrier, white male, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (dog had advanced age, overall emaciation and muscle wasting, very weak in rear, difficulty moving around, blind, deaf, severe dental disease, two large and likely malignant perianal tumors beginning to obstruct defecation, heart murmur, grim prognosis), West Central Avenue, Richfield Township, running at large.
