Dogs killed

Dogs killed April 22-23 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

Beagle, black and gray male, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (dog was very arthritic in rear, had muscle atrophy in both rear legs, unsteady and weak, pain), Broadway, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Rat terrier mix, white and black male, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (dog was paralyzed in both rear legs, had distended bladder, refused to eat, suspected multiple pelvic fractures or spinal trauma, severe pain, grim prognosis), Nebraska Avenue, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Labrador retriever mix, black female, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (dog was arthritic in back, hips, and all four legs, muscle atrophy in rear, weak, pain), Broadway Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

American bulldog, white and brindle male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/food guarder (scored 4 out of 5 on April 21), Hartman Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Tibetan terrier mix, white female, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (dog had liver failure), surrendered by Karen Kovach, Garden Road, Maumee.

Dogs transferred April 23 to the Lucas County Pit Crew and Toledo Area Humane Society under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:
