Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control Office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800.

For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

 

Dogs killed

Dogs killed April 25-26 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

German shepherd, brown and black female, unlicensed, aggressive/unsafe, surrendered by Krystale Wonacott, South Berkey-Southern Road, Swanton.

St. Bernard, tan and white male, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (dog had pain and weakness in rear legs, difficulty getting up, muscle atrophy in rear legs, severe dental disease, grim prognosis), Alexis Road, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

Cocker spaniel mix, black and white female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/dog aggression (scored 4 out of 4 on April 24), Washington Street, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

Labrador retriever mix, black male, unlicensed, aggressive/unsafe, surrendered by Jill Gorham, Northover Road, Toledo.

Labrador retriever, black and white male, unlicensed, bite history, surrendered by Ashley Aldrich, Spring Grove Avenue, Toledo.

Chow chow/Labrador retriever mix, black male, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (bite history), surrendered by Sean Houk, Brint Road, Berkey.

“Pit bull,” black and white male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/dog aggression (scored 4/4 on April 25), Thurston Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

German shepherd mix, tan male, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (dog had seizures, fixed pupils unresponsive to light), surrendered by Candy Peoples, Fulton Street, Toledo.

Chihuahua mix, white and tan male, Sylvania Avenue, Sylvania, stray picked up by a control officer.
