For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

 

Dogs killed

Dogs killed June 26-27 and 29 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

“Pit bull,” black and white female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/dog aggression (scored 4 out of 4 on June 25), surrendered by Ann Bey, North Byrne Road, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” tan and black male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/body handling (scored 3/5 on June 25), surrendered by Ann Bey, North Byrne Road, Toledo.

Labrador retriever, tan female, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (chronic skin conditions, mammary mass, severe arthritis in all four legs, muscle atrophy in rear legs, unsteady and weak, poor prognosis), surrendered by Leonard Hendricks, Applegate Drive, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” black and white male, unlicensed, bit a person while running loose, East Central Avenue, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Labrador retriever, black female, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (elderly, bad hips and knees, deaf), surrendered by Thomas Hoppe, Rhode Island Road, Holland.

Mastiff mix, brown and black female, Ogden Avenue, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

German shepherd mix, brown male, surrendered by Darlene Shelmon-Perry, Maple Street, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” white and brown male, surrendered by Tiffany Jones, Foraker Avenue, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” black and white female, South Erie Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.
