Dogs killed

Dogs killed July 31 and Aug. 1 under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

“Pit bull,” brindle and white female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/dog aggression (scored 4 out of 4 on July 30), Lewis Avenue, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

“Pit bull” mix, orange and white male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/resource guarder (scored 3/5 on July 30), Sixth Street, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

“Pit bull,” white and tan male, unlicensed, aggressive/unsafe, Maxwell Road, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Labrador retriever mix, brown female, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (elderly, unable to control bowels), surrendered by Carolyn Owens, Acoma Drive, Toledo.

Yorkshire terrier, orange and brown female, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/quality of life (minimally responsive, labored breathing, not eating, blood from rectum, very near death), Thayer Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Rat terrier, black and tan male, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (elderly, difficulty getting around), surrendered by Diana Gladieux, Fassett Street, Toledo.

Saint Bernard/Dalmatian mix, black and white male, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (elderly, cancer), surrendered by Barbara Reigle, Greenwood Avenue, Toledo.
