The unemployment rate in Lucas County rose to an estimated 8 percent in October, up from 7.3 percent in October, 2012.

State officials released county unemployment estimates for the months of October and September on Tuesday, making up for a delay brought on by the government shutdown in early October.

The state said Lucas County's September rate was 8.3 percent, compared with 7.4 percent in September, 2012.

The county rates are not seasonally adjusted.

The state said Toledo's October rate was 8.7 percent, down from 8.9 percent in September. Last year, Toledo's rate was 8 percent in both September and October.

Around the region, Fulton County's October unemployment rate was 7.4 percent, Ottawa County's was 8.1 percent, and Wood County's was 6.8 percent.

The seasonally adjusted statewide rate for October, released last week, was 7.5 percent, up from 7.4 percent in September.
