ACHIEVEMENTS

■ Carol Williams has been appointed to the board of directors of Owens-Illinois Inc. She is a special adviser to the CEO at Dow Chemical Co., where she was executive vice president of manufacturing and engineering, supply chain and environmental, health and safety operations.

■ Jeannine (Jeanie) Giesler has been elected president of the board of directors for Professional Independent Agents Association of Ohio Inc. She is chief operations officer and partner of Diversified Insurance Services LLC in Elmore, Ohio. Also, Diane T. Keil-Hipp was named secretary of the agents’ association’s board of directors. She is a partner and vice president of operations at Knight Crockett Miller Insurance Group in Toledo.

■ Alexis Gardens, an independent retirement community in Toledo, recently was presented with a SeniorAdvisor Excellence Award for consistently high ratings from residents and their families in 2013. SeniorAdvisor.com is a consumer reviews Web site established by A Place for Mom, or APFM, the nation’s largest senior living referral service.

■ Trent Bloomfield has been promoted to vice president at VM Systems Inc., a Toledo HVAC contractor. He served as lead estimator with VM Systems for four years.

■ Jason Hill of Toledo has been installed as the president of the Northern District of Ohio Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. He is court administrator for the Ohio 6th District Court of Appeals and is an adjunct professor teaching election law at the University of Toledo College of Law.
