ACHIEVEMENTS

■ Nicole Sebree has been named director of marketing at Hollywood Casino Toledo with responsibility for the casino’s advertising, public relations, entertainment, special events, and promotions. Most recently she was with Reach Media Inc., focusing on media sales for nationally syndicated radio personalities. Previously she was capture marketing chief for Caesars Entertainment at the company’s 10 Las Vegas casinos.

■ Joe Cherry of Toledo has been elected president of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers. He is a shareholder, senior associate, and senior process-controls engineer at SSOE Group in Toledo. He takes over for Fred Tito, who becomes past president. He is a principal of JDI Group Inc. in Maumee.

■ The Toledo Chapter of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers has received the state organization’s Engineers Week Overall Observance Award for the 19th consecutive year.

■ Andrew Mekus of Bowling Green has earned the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers’ Young Engineer of the Year award. He was chosen for his efforts to support the activities of OPSE and the Toledo Chapter, his enthusiasm for the profession, and his leadership in community, civic, and professional affairs. Mr. Mekus works for SSOE Group of Toledo.
