Lisa Hunter has taught in the English Department at Central Catholic High School for the past 8 years. Her classes are meaningful and rewarding, engaging her students every day. Prior to her Irish career, Lisa taught for 10 years at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns. She makes a difference every day in the lives of so many young men and young women at Central Catholic.

A graduate of the University of Toledo in 1992 with a degree in English, Mrs. Hunter has been in the Innovative Educator Program through the Diocese of Toledo where she has been a model teacher and building coordinator.

“Mrs. Hunter is a very effective teacher,” said Michael J. Kaucher, principal. “She incorporates new strategies and techniques into her classroom and requires her students to understand more than just the basics. She demands excellence from her students. She requires her students to accept responsibility, but is willing to come to school early or stay late if a student is in need of some extra help. This is evident by the number of students who return to Central Catholic and seek out Mrs. Hunter to share with her the positive impact that she has made on them.”
