The University of Toledo is attempting to get into the Guinness Book of World Records for the number of bow ties that are tied simultaneously on Wednesday.

As part of the university's now-annual Tie One On, an event that began in 2011 as a fund-raiser for cancer care and UT's medical center, participants will be asked to remain in the Fetterman Athletic Training Facility and adjoining Savage Hall after receiving their bow ties.

Participation requires a $100 donation, which includes a ticket to the men’s basketball game between UT and rival Bowling Green. The game tips off at 7 p.m.
