The Maumee Valley Historical Society will have a History Day Camp for third to sixth graders from June 23 through 26 at the Wolcott House Museum Complex, 1035 River Rd.

The camp will run from 10 a.m. to noon or 1 to 3 p.m. each day. The cost is $15 per session or $50 for all four sessions. For historical society members the respective cost is $12 or $48.

On June 23, the children will do chores the pioneers did such as rug-beating, soap-making, and candle-making. June 24 will focus on American Indian practices, wherein campers will learn how Native Americans used nature to meet their daily needs. June 25 will be dedicated to old-fashioned food and fun — with homemade ice cream, butter, jam, and lemonade. On June 26, participants will experience old-fashioned school days, with activities such as writing with quills and using slate.
