Bedford schools board buys 10 buses

The Bedford Public Schools Board of Education has approved the purchase of 10 school buses at a total cost of $926,528. The purchase includes nine conventional buses and one lift bus with five wheelchair stations and air conditioning to meet the needs of some students.

The district’s last bus purchase was in 2007. The district will have to borrow money for this latest purchase and has yet to arrange financing.

Superintendent Mark Kleinhans estimated the cost to the school system’‍s budget would be $150,000 to $200,000 annually.
