Rossford schools Superintendent Dan Creps told the Board of Education last week that the class transition planned for the school year is ahead of schedule.

The board closed Indian Hills Elementary School at the end of the 2013-2014 year to cut costs. In the coming academic year, students in prekindergarten through second grade will be moved to Glenwood Elementary, students in grades three to five to Eagle Point Elementary, and sixth graders to the junior high.

Mr. Creps reported that teachers will have access to the buildings today, and he had asked principals to compile a list of needed furniture for submission by Aug. 8.

In other business, the board approved the employment of Judy Sobanski as a four-hour, 10-month secretary at the junior high at a pay rated of $19.53 per hour; Nancy Cajka for the same position and pay at Eagle Point, and Juanita Westdyk as a crossing guard for 1.5 hours per day at a rate of $14.27 per hour.
