Steam generators arrive safely at Davis-Besse

New steam generators for the Davis-Besse nuclear power plant are transferred from ship to rail.

PORT CLINTON — Two steam generators have arrived at the Davis-Besse nuclear power plant, FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Co. said Monday.

The generators, each weighing 470 tons, were made in Canada and were moved by rail to Port Clinton over the weekend.

FirstEnergy says they will be installed during Davis-Besse’s regular spring refueling outage.
