Beans' 21 points lead Ottawa Hills boys over Cardinal Stritch

The Eagles pulled away in the middle quarters Monday night in a battle of likely contenders in Three Rivers Athletic Conference girls basketball.

Tierra Floyd led Notre Dame (5-2, 3-0) with 18 points, while Kaayla McIntyre chipped in with 13.

After falling behind 13-11 after the opening quarter, the Eagles outscored the visitors 31-13 in the next two periods to build a comfortable lead.

Christina McQueen led the Trojans (3-1, 2-1) with 12. Teammate Taylor Stanfield joined her in double figures with 11.

Rogers 82, Waite 29

The Rams (3-1) rolled at home, placing five players in double figures.

Cha’Ron Sweeney led the scoring parade with 22 points, Marquelle Williams added 16, Toriana Easley 15, Jasmyne Smith 11, and Akienreh Johnson 10.

Yatiah Caldwell topped the Indians with 11 points with Maekana Henry scoring 10.

Bowsher 73, Woodward 48

Daija Rayford had a big game for the Rebels, scoring a team-high 25 points.

Celeste Wade added 15 and Rachel Marter 14.

The Polar Bears were paced K’Shauna Barnett’s game-high 26 points.

Central Catholic 58, Clay 33

The Irish improved to 4-1 with the home win.

Deonna Murdock led Central with 14 points and Jen Vliet added 12.

Whitmer 71, St. Ursula 26

Keshyra McCarver poured in 26 points to lead the Panthers in a home victory.

Samantha Meinen added 12 points for Whitmer (3-2, 1-2 TRAC).

Megan Burns led St. Ursula with nine points.

Archbold 51, Ayersville 36

AYERSVILLE — The Blue Streaks roared to a 16-4 first-quarter lead and improved their record to 6-0.

Cassidy Wyse led Archbold with 16 points while Jesse Fidler added 11 and Hannah Hesterman 10.

Start 67, Scott 49

Four players scored in double figures for the Spartans (2-2) as they picked up the road win.

Chelsie Randolh scored 14 points, Torrie McDuffie 13, Deshayla Mosby 12, and Jasmine Bob 10 for Start.

Erica Besteder fired in 20 points to pace the Bulldogs (1-2).


Boys

Ottawa Hills 52, Cardinal Stritch 49

At Stritch, the Green Bears (2-0) got big games from Geoff Beans and Lucas Janowicz.

Beans tossed in 21 points, including seven in the pivotal fourth quarter, while Janowicz added 18.

Austin Adams led the way for the Cardinals (0-2) with 18 points, while Joey Cousino provided 12.

Berean Baptist 55, Monclova Christian 31

At Monclova, Trent Hester paced Berean with 15 points.

Drew Helsinski led Monclova with 13 points, Troy Helinski added 12, and Nolan Cook 11.
