Bowsher suffers first loss of season

Harding scores on 4th-quarter pass

MARION, Ohio — The Presidents used an 18-yard touchdown pass Friday night from Kobe Troutman to A.J. Jones in the fourth quarter to hand the Rebels (3-1) their first loss.

Marion Harding (1-3) saw a 50-yard touchdown run by L.J. Scott in the second quarter called back because Scott jumped over a Bowsher defender. High school rules indicate a defender must be completely on the ground if an offensive player leaps over him.

 

Mason 47, Scott 0

MASON, Mich. — Josh Flamme connected on six field goals, including a long of 45 yards, as Mason defeated Scott.

Josh VanHavel tossed a 55-yard touchdown pass to Nathan Jones for Mason (4-0). He also ran for scores of one and seven yards.

Day'Vonta Russell led Scott (1-3) with 97 yards rushing.

 

Bellevue 62, Waite 0

BELLEVUE — The Redmen piled up 553 yards — including 427 on the ground — while holding the Indians to 134 yards of total offense.

Josh McNeely scored three times for Bellevue (2-2), while Maurice Barnhouse added two.

Waite falls to 0-4.

 

Bryan 61, Start 7

Austin Schimmoeller threw for 196 yards and rushed for 103 yards on 12 carries for the visiting Golden Bears.

Schimmoeller completed 14 of 20 passes for 196 yards including three for touchdowns — two to Brock Minor (15 and 20 yards) and one to Sean Culler (30 yards). Schimmoeller ran for two TDs.

Daniel Pendergrast rushed for two TDs, while Brandon Dean ran for one. Josh Jones booted two field goals for the Golden Bears (4-0).

The Spartans (0-4) scored on an 11-yard run by Jaquan Hughes.

 

Columbus DeSales 41, Rogers 20

Wendell Warren threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, but it wasn’t enough for the host Rams (1-3) to overcome a 28-6 halftime lead.

Warren ran for 123 yards on 14 carries, including a 65-yard scoring run. He also completed 3-of-6 passes for 154 yards, including TD passes of 80 and 71 yards to Anthony Amison.

DeSales (2-2) ran the ball 49 times for 233 yards and five TDs, including two 13-yard scoring runs by Emmanuel Maweter.
