Bodeman’s late TD gives Panthers win

QB helps Whitmer knock off Titans; Knights’ Carswell runs for 238 yards

Whitmer 27, St. John’s 21

Sophomore quarterback Chase Bodeman’s 29-yard scamper for a touchdown Friday night with 6:53 left in the game to lift the Panthers to a Three Rivers Athletic Conference victory.

St. John’s drove into Whitmer territory on its final drive but the Panthers had two sacks to stop the Titans.

Bodeman, who earlier scored on a 39-yard run, finished with 15 carries for 170 yards.

The Panthers (5-4, 4-2 TRAC), who employ two quarterbacks, also had Matt Winzeler pass eight yards to Chris Boykin and nine yards to Jamal Bell for TDs.

St. John’s (2-7, 2-4) had quarterback Dick Anderson toss scoring strikes of three yards to Trevor Walsh and 16 yards to Jon Friesner. Joe Pool romped 50 yards with a fumble return for a touchdown.

 

St. Francis 56, Clay 27

Lamar Carswell ran for 238 yards and scored four touchdowns for the Knights (5-1, 7-2).

David Nees added 118 yards rushing and was completed 9 of 15 for 53 yards and a touchdown. Andrew Bonfiglio ran a punt back 64 yards for score.

For the Eagles (0-6, 2-7), Aaron Seymour rushed for 50 yards and two TDs. Josh Pennington was 14 of 27 passing for 153 yards and had a 12-yard TD run.

 

Fremont Ross 42, Findlay 7

FINDLAY — The Little Giants steamrolled its way to the win on the strength of 183 rushing yards and four touchdowns from Hunter Trautwein.

The senior back scored on runs of 6, 3, 3, and 66 after Findlay (2-7, 1-5) led 7-0 after the first quarter.

Jeffery Barnett added the two other rushing scores for the Little Giants (4-5, 2-4) while having 146 yards on six touches.

Findlay’s Emanual Mogolu (17 carries, 71 yards) scored the lone touchdown for the Trojans, while quarterback Jordan Dean finished with 195 yards passing.
