Schmeltz paces Eagles; Goodrich leads Comets

ELMORE — The Eagles soared to a 23-6 first-quarter edge and won going away Friday night in Northern Buckeye Conference boys basketball.

Jake Schmeltz paced Eastwood (5-4, 2-2 NBC) with 17 points with Grant Peters contributing 10.

Woodmore fell to 1-9, 1-4.

Genoa 69, Elmwood 52

GENOA — Noah Goodrich led four Comets in double figures with 17 points.

Luke Rightnowar added 16 for Genoa (4-5, 3-2), which trailed 36-30 at half but pulled away with a 25-10 edge in the third quarter. Casey Gose scored 14 and Jimmy Henninger 12.

Jarrett Childress led Elmwood (1-7, 0-4) with 16. Tayte Lentz scored 14.

Otsego 48, Fostoria 34

TONTOGANY — Jalen Myers scored 12 points to lead the Knights (5-4, 3-1).

Kagen Brown had nine points for the Redmen (2-7, 0-4).
