Weather forces more sports cancellations
1/27/2014The winter of 2013-14 continues to take its toll on the area high school athletic schedule.
Girls basketball games postponed today include three City League contests -- Bowsher at Rogers, Waite at Scott, and Start at Woodward -- as well as three of the four scheduled games in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference -- Clay at Findlay, St. Ursula at Fremont Ross, and Whitmer at Lima Senior.
The one TRAC game still on is the key Central Catholic at Notre Dame matchup. Notre Dame athletic director Gary Snyder said that the freshman, junior varsity, varsity tripleheader, which is set to start at 4:30 p.m., will only be canceled if the City of Toledo declares a level-3 snow emergency.
Other girls games canceled today include Tiffin Calvert at Emmanuel Christian, Gibsonburg at Ottawa Hills, and Evergreen at Hilltop.
Sylvania Schools have announced that the Northview junior varsity and varsity basketball games against Napoleon today have been canceled.
