Toledo Christian suffers 1st conference loss

Ottawa Hills 45, Toledo Christian 34

Ottawa Hills utilized a solid defensive effort to hand visiting Toledo Christian its first Toledo Area Athletic Conference loss on Thursday in girls basketball.

The Green Bears led 22-11 at the half and 31-16 after three quarters.

Ottawa Hills improved to 12-3 overall and 9-1 in the TAAC. Foster Smith tallied 16 points and Allie Dewire added 14.

Faith Johnson led all scorers with 19 points for Toledo Christian (10-5, 10-1).

 

Whitmer 53, Central Catholic 50

At Central Catholic, Whitmer's Tricia Kimmel hit a 3-pointer with nine seconds left to force overtime. The Panthers then outscored Central Catholic 6-3 in the extra period.

Samantha Meinen paced Whitmer (11-3, 5-2 Three Rivers Athletic Conference) with 10 points.

Central Catholic's Alyssa Galernik scored 10 of her 19 points in the fourth quarter as the Irish erased a 10-point deficit.

Michelle Murnen added 16 points for Central (10-5, 5-4).

 

Lima Senior 86, St. Ursula 47

Four Spartans scored in double figures as Lima Senior (12-3, 5-3 TRAC) won in a conference road game.

Indiya Benjamin and Rion Thompson led the way with 19 points each, Imara Haynes added 14 and Essence Cowan had 12.

Megan Burns paced St. Ursula (3-10, 0-7) with 17 points and Alex Richards scored 10.

 

Notre Dame 71, Findlay 29

FINDLAY — The Eagles soared early, leading 19-5 after the opening quarter, to advance to 11-3, 8-1 in the TRAC.

Tierra Floyd scored 26 points and Kaayla McIntyre 14 for Notre Dame.

The Trojans drop to 2-14, 2-7.

 

Rogers 92, Waite 40

Brelynn Hampton-Bey led six Rams (14-4, 9-0 City League) in double figures with 15 points.

Akienreh Johnson and Keasja Peace added 13 each, Marquelle Williams scored 11, and Sasha Dailey and Keyanna Austin had 10 points apiece.

Yatiah Caldwell tallied 14 points for Waite (6-10, 3-5), and Taylor Works and Ramiah Henry added 12 each.

 

Clay 48, Fremont Ross 40

The host Eagles led by 10 at the half and held off the Little Giants.

Hannah Novak led Clay (10-7, 5-4 TRAC) with 12 points, while Sam Enck had 11 and Haley Hess and Hannah Hess each had 10.

Fremont Ross (8-6, 2-4) was led by Shania Kiser’s 16 points.

 

Southview 45, Anthony Wayne 34

The Cougars jumped out to a 16-2 lead after the first quarter and cruised to the home win.

Southview (13-6, 8-4 Northern Lakes League) was led by Taryn Stanley’s 22 points.

Jasmine Bonivel led Anthony Wayne (12-5, 8-4) with 10 points.

 

Springfield 48, Napoleon 43

NAPOLEON — The Blue Devils built a 23-18 lead at the half and outlasted the Wildcats.

Mya Watkins tallied 12 points for Springfield (9-9, 4-7), while Asia Goodwin had 10.

Carlie Kruse paced Napoleon (5-10, 2-9) with 17 points.

 

Bryan 54, Swanton 48

SWANTON — Hannah Schimmoeller led Bryan (8-8, 3-3) with 17 points and Brooke Vollmer followed with 16 in the overtime victory.

Maicie Wheeler scored 13 for Swanton (6-9, 3-5) and Kyleigh Ramlow added 12.

 

Cardinal Stritch 35, Danbury 30

LAKESIDE — Kali Hardy’s 10 points led the Cardinals (7-9, 7-4 TAAC).

Erin Lavelle topped Danbury (7-9, 4-5) with 12 points.

 

Evergreen 53, Montpelier 32

MONTPELIER — Haili Mossing tallied 15 points and Kendalyn Noe added 14 as the Vikings (13-3, 6-1 NWOAL) cruised.

Hannah Blake paced Montpelier (4-12, 0-7) with 12 points.

 

Northwood 45, Gibsonburg 40

Dona Cruz produced a team-high 11 points for the Rangers (3-13, 3-7 TAAC).

Marisa Alvarado led Gibsonburg (5-9, 5-5) with 11 points.

 

Maumee Valley 36, Emmanuel Christian 32

At Emmanuel, Cammie Lonsway and Kennedie Jackson scored 10 points each as Maumee Valley (1-13, 1-8 TAAC) outlasted the Warriors for their first victory of the season.

Ceyonna Simon and Cassidy Daniels both scored eight points to pace Emmanuel Christian (3-8, 1-8).

 

Wauseon 55, Delta 54

DELTA — Wauseon held on for an NWOAL win despite being outscored 15-10 in the final quarter.

Maddie Richer led the Indians (9-8, 4-2) with 19 points and Natalie Koenig added 15.

Brigan Wymer poured in 30 points for Delta (10-7, 5-2).

 

Woodward 36, Bowsher 15

At Bowsher, K’Shawna Barnett tallied 14 points and Cierra Stamper had 12 to lead the Polar Bears (5-9, 5-3 CL).

Bri Rayford had five points for the Rebels (0-14, 0-8).

 

Northview 67, Bowling Green 57

BOWLING GREEN — Kendall McCoy poured in 27 points to lead Northview to an NLL win.

Maddie Cole added 15 points for the Wildcats (13-3, 8-3).

Livvy Dill scored 15 points for Bowling Green (9-9, 4-7), while Kendal Glandorff had 13 and Tyanna Smith 10.

 

Boys

Rossford 46, Otsego 45

ROSSFORD — The Bulldogs jumped out to an 18-7 lead after one quarter and held on for a Northern Buckeye Conference boys basketball victory.

Mack Miller and Derek Mack led Rossford with 11 points each.

Jalen Myers scored 20 points to lead Otsego, while Schyler Scherff added 13.

 

Elmwood 54, Woodmore 46

BLOOMDALE — Trevor Solether scored 13 points and Aaron Arnold had 11 points for Elmwood (3-11, 2-6 NBC).

Ryan Avers paced Woodmore (2-13, 2-7) with nine.
