Whitmer's Leon Hughes drives past St. Francis' Nolan Ansara during Friday's Three Rivers Athletic Conference game at Whitmer.
Things did not look promising for host Whitmer late in the fourth quarter of a Three Rivers Athletic Conference boys basketball matchup against St. Francis de Sales Friday night.
The Panthers had squandered their own five-point lead from the third quarter with seven turnovers in that period, and trailed St. Francis by five with under two minutes to play.
But, Whitmer (4-0, 3-0 TRAC) found a way in final 1:35 behind the shooting of 6-foot-5 junior Edward Colbert, and rallied to a 45-42 victory over the Knights (3-2, 2-1). FULL STORY/PHOTO GALLERY ■ VIDEO
