Boys Roundup: Clay outlasts Waite in 2 overtimes

CLAY 83, WAITE 81

Down one in double overtime, Dustin Aiton hit a 3-pointer with 3.3 seconds left as Clay boys basketball prevailed on the road Tuesday night.

Reese Wamer scored 31 to lead Clay. Aiton finished with 15, Trey Reddick added 12, and Dakota Calkins 10.

For Waite, Carl Banks led all scorers with 32 points. Dominique Booth finished with 20 and Dewayne Wells had 18.

ANTHONY WAYNE 50, PERRYSBURG 46

Max Denman scored 15 points and Andrew Murphy added 11 as the Generals won on the road.

Cam Glowacki led the Yellow Jackets with 12 points. Ian Riddle added 10.

MAUMEE 51,NAPOLEON 39

The host Panthers were led by Ben Pacer with 16 points and David Walker with 11.

For the Wildcats, Jarrett Gerdeman had 12 and Landon Willeman helped with 11.

NORTHVIEW 74, BOWLING GREEN 47

The Wildcats held Bowling Green to 14 first-half points to win in Northern Lakes League action.

Alek West led Northview with 19 points, and Sam Clear added 14 points. Colton Spear chipped in 10 points.

Bryce Hoehner led the Bobcats with a game-high 20 points.

SOUTHVIEW 70, SPRINGFIELD 37

Ryan Fries scored 21 points, and nine other Cougars scored in a road victory for Southview.

Terrel Bryant led the Blue Devils with eight points.

OTSEGO 52, ROSSFORD 47

TONTOGANY — Mitchell Downs hit a 3-pointer and Will Varner made five free throws in overtime to lift the Knights over the Bulldogs in a Northern Buckeye Conference game.

Varner led Otsego (7-3, 4-2 NBC) with 24 points, including five 3-pointers, and Downs had 18 points.

Cam Reynolds had 13 points to lead Rossford (2-9, 1-5 NBC), while Lucas Warner scored 10.

EASTWOOD 45, LAKE 38

MILLBURY — Grant Hirzel scored 11 points and Cory Coffman 10 for the Eagles (6-2, 4-1 NBC), who won on the road.

Ahmad Smith led the Flyers (5-8, 2-4) with 11 points.

GENOA 58, ELMWOOD 37

GENOA — Jake Plantz hit eight field goals and scored 24 points to lead the host Comets (7-3, 6-0 NBC).

Matthew Cline led the Royals (5-6, 2-4) with 18 points.

WOODMORE 76, FOSTORIA 52

ELMORE — The Wildcats used a 17-0 run midway through the third quarter to break open a close game in an NBC contest against the Redmen.

Drew Burner led Woodmore (7-2, 3-2 NBC) with 20 points and Mitchell Miller added 18.

Aneas Cousin finished with 13 points for Fostoria (3-8, 1-5) and Eli Ward had 12.

TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 67, NORTHWOOD 45

Four Toledo Christian players finished in double figures, led by Delano Smith with 15 points, as the Eagles dominated in Toledo Area Athletic Conference play.

Jeff Hardy led the Eagles (10-1, 6-1 TAAC) with 13 points, Trevor Wesink had 11 points, and Landon McGill scored 10 points in the win.

Donte Dixon had 11 points for the Rangers (1-9, 1-5), and Logan Carroll added 10 points.

OTTAWA HILLS 60, SWANTON 36

Tommy Coil finished with 17 points, Eliot Cummings had 14, and John Kight 13 as the Green Bears won at home.

Randy Slink led Swanton with 12 points.

CARDINAL STRITCH 47, GIBSONBURG 35

GIBSONBURG — Jordan Burton scored 10 of his game-high 21 points in the third quarter to lead the visiting Cardinals. Joey Holifield added 14.

Jake Foster led the Golden Bears with 15 points.

EMMANUEL CHRISTIAN 55, DANBURY 50

Gunnar Parmelee picked up 17 points and Jailon Walker added 16 points as the Warriors (4-5, 1-4) won their first TAAC game of the season in overtime.

Ian Kuzma led the Lakers (3-5, 1-4) with 16 points and Noah Calton added 10 points.
