Area Roundup: Bedford earns first win

TEMPERANCE — Bedford ran for 460 yards and shut out Pinckney in the second half to earn its first victory of the season, 40-20.

Christian Brown rushed for 234 yards on 31 attempts, Austin Malabanan added 129 yards on 13 carries, and the pair scored two touchdowns each for Bedford (1-2).

The Mules held Pinckney (1-2) to 67 yards on the ground.

Columbus Grove 27, Patrick Henry 7

COLUMBUS GROVE — Garrett Nemire rushed for 211 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries to spark the Bulldogs to victory over the Patriots on Friday night.

TJ Rhamy had the Patriots’ score on a 12-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

Whiteford 46, Summerfield 12

PETERSBURG — Summerfield scored first, but the Whiteford Bobcats roared back to force a second-half running clock and beat the Bulldogs.

Ty Eitniear threw touchdown passes of 56 yards to Hunter Lake and 22 yards to Bradyn Clark-Gilmore while Zack Bertz, Logan Murphy Lake, and Caleb Williams scored rushing TDs for the Bobcats.

Treylan Hess had 12 tackles for Whiteford, including 3 sacks and 5 tackles for loss.

Summerfield scored on its first possession then again on the game’s final play.

Blissfield 51, Onsted 8

ONSTED, Mich. — The Royals rushed for 396 yards to easily defeat the Wildcats. Zack Horky had 158 yards on only four carries. He had touchdown runs of 63 and 80 yards. He also had a 21-yard pass reception for a score.

Hunter Smith had 134 yards on 10 carries and scored on runs of 41 and 47 yards.

For the Wildcats, Will Conrad had an interception return for a touchdown.

Mohawk 16, Gibsonburg 0

SYCAMORE — Gibsonburg and Mohawk traded zeros through the first three quarters before Mohawk pulled away on Friday night.

Kendryk Leeth kicked a 23-yard field goal and Keith Jenkins connected on a 21-yard TD pass to Zach Hayman.
