This week’s featured home offers the best of townhome living in a unique waterfront location. The townhome at 4659 Lakeside Drive offers urban sophistication in an area within sight of The Shops at Fallen Timbers, but in a quiet, waterfront setting that offers complete relaxation.

This McCarthy Builders townhome comes with something extra, also: a $5,000 discount if you purchase this year. Early birds may get the worm, but early buyers get considerable savings.

McCarthy Builders has been constructing town-homes for quite some time, but this new layout represents a significant departure from its previous incarnations.

The exterior of these townhomes are similar to earlier ones, in shades of taupe and Irish linen siding with cedar-look shingles and stone skirting. The front door is recessed to keep visitors out of inclement weather.

Inside, the first floor ceilings rise to nine feet. The flooring is Konecto vinyl planking that has the look of hardwood. The foyer leads to the great room, passing doors to the two-car garage, a powder room, and a deep guest closet.

The kitchen is open to the great room and dining area.

The great room is a classic open floor plan, with one large room for cooking, dining and entertaining.

The kitchen area is quite large, with a massive island that doubles as a breakfast bar. Amber pen-dant lights illuminate it. The island is clad in white beadboard for a clean, trim look. The tall cabinets are birch, with a deep ebony color and crown molding. Hi-definition laminate countertops offer the look of granite.

Large windows line the far wall and overlook the 3-acre lake. A back door here leads to a poured concrete patio – a perfect place to sit back and enjoy the view as ducks and other wildlife congre-gate. Inside, however, is just as pleasant, with a substantial space for your dining furniture, a large sofa, and your entertainment system.

A staircase with a white wood railing leads to the second floor. At the top of the stairs and to the left is the master suite. A view of the lake from above is a highlight of this space – as are the his n’ her closets! One walk-in and one double-door closet provide generous storage space. A ceiling fan is mounted overhead.

The master bath includes a white vanity with a cultured marble top, a step-in shower with two seats, and a linen closet.

Two secondary bedrooms each have double closets. They share a full bath, accessible from the hall.

A second floor laundry area is concealed behind closet doors, and helps make this home not only stylish but also convenient.

As an added convenience, all townhomes in the Lakeside neighborhood enjoy snow removal and lawn care for a low monthly fee.

Townhomes by McCarthy Builders in the Lake-side neighborhood of Monclova Township start at $144,900, including the early-bird discount.
