Obamacare backers also to blame

11/25/2013

Those in Congress who voted to make Obamacare law share responsibility with President Obama for deceit (“This presidency hangs on an Obamacare fix,” op-ed column, Nov. 24).

Those lawmakers knowingly have caused great harm to our health system. None of them deserves to be returned to office.

We are just beginning to pay the price for this political scam.

Note to columnist: Obamacare’s OK
Op-ed columnist Charles Krauthammer finds it odd that President Obama feels compelled to campaign for his health-care law (“Obamacare rhetoric, reality,” Nov. 10). Dr. Krauthammer apparently doesn’t find anything odd in Republicans’ dogged compulsion to campaign for the law’s destruction.

The GOP is gleefully trotting out a seemingly endless parade of Americans whose individual policies have been terminated, mostly because their existing coverage is woefully inadequate.

Our family of four, including two girls in college, has been hobbled for years by such a health-care policy — high deductibles that we almost never reach, coupled with rising premiums that consume nearly a quarter of our family income.

Perhaps Dr. Krauthammer would also find it odd that despite the Obamacare Web site fiasco, I’ve gotten far enough in the process to discover that our family will finally have health insurance that will benefit us, at a significantly lower cost.

Health-care issue is no surprise
Americans seem surprised that Obamacare is an economic train wreck (“Obamacare’s shift to fine print turns laborious,” op-ed column, Nov. 20). Government intervention in the free market is usually disastrous.

The heath-care system could have been fixed easily through loser-pays tort reform, buying insurance across state lines, health savings accounts, and eliminating redundant testing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Obamacare should be repealed.

Stop criticizing Obama over site
It is time to stop criticizing President Obama. The people he put in charge of maintaining the health-care Web site are to blame.

They should have been honest about the rollout of this Web site from the beginning. Those who are critical should reach out to each other and find a solution.
