The first time I saw the photograph of a Toledo firefighter, head bowed, on a fire truck, I wondered why The Blade didn’t leave him alone to grieve in peace (“Deadly past haunts Toledo’s fire crews,” Jan. 27).
I saw that photo in the ensuing days and was not able to take my eyes from it. I finally figured out why: This man was expressing the city’s sadness, mine included.
I thank firefighters for their bravery and courage.
