Books are great, not just for babies
7/13/2014Your June 27 editorial “Books for babies” should have been entitled “Books for all.” Many people wish to help others to have opportunities to read.
In Perrysburg, Zoar Lutheran Church provides books for adults and children. Several years ago, books left over from a sale by the Toledo branch of the American Association of University Women were brought to a church charity event. These were well received.
Since then, church members have donated books that are shared with individuals and families. I am a member of Zoar and in charge of the book distribution. Way Public Library in Perrysburg and other local churches have helped Zoar maintain this success.
It is wonderful to see books read at lunch and going out the doors with food supplies. In the next week or month, many books return so others can enjoy reading.
Zoar encourages other organizations to provide opportunities for people of all ages to have books to read.
