    Vegan meet-up

    From 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, the Phoenix Earth Food Co-op, 1447 W. Sylvania Ave., is hosting a vegan meet-up for those who already follow the lifestyle and diet and those who are interested in learning more. Samples of holiday fare will be provided, along with recipes so you can make the delicious dishes at home.

    Making Spirits Bright

    From 6 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 1, the Culinary Vegetable Institute at the Chef’s Garden, 12304 Mudbrook Rd., Milan, Ohio, is hosting Making Spirits Bright, a festive holiday party.

    Celebrate with an array of hors d’oeuvres and creative crudités, cheeses, and the Chef’s Garden’s own charcuterie. Choose from two beverage tastings to pair with the food: four spirits and nostalgic cocktails for $30 or non-alcoholic temperance pairings for $24. Full-size cocktails cost $13; wine and craft beers will also be available. Drinks at the Chef’s Garden feature house-made botanicals, fermented juices, infusions, and bitters prepared from the beautiful produce grown on-site.

    Tickets cost $60. (The listed prices do not include service charge and sales tax, which will be added on when making reservations.)

    Holiday cookie sale

    The St. Anna Ladies Guild at St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 738 Glenwood Rd., Rossford, is hosting its 14th annual Holiday Cookie Sale on Dec. 9.

    The doors will open at 9:30 a.m., at which time pastry line numbers will be distributed to early birds; the sale itself will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Parishioners will be baking throughout November in preparation for the sale. Offerings include kolachi cookies, kolachi rolls (apricot, nut, raspberry, and poppy seed), holiday specialties, decorated cookies, and much more.
