A former nurse at Swanton Health Care and Rehabilitation Center was granted intervention in lieu of a conviction Monday for stealing drugs from her employer.

Janet Luginbuhl, 48, of 2115 Elm St. pleaded guilty to theft of drugs, but Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Linda Jennings withheld a finding of guilt and instead placed her under the supervision of the probation department for three years.

During that time, Ms. Luginbuhl is to undergo recommended substance abuse treatment as well as random drug screening and must perform community service rather than pay court costs. A licensed practical nurse, Ms. Luginbuhl admitted “misappropriating” a patient’s medication Oct. 9, said her attorney, Sara Roller.
