ANN ARBOR — Taylor Lewan, a former All-American offensive lineman at Michigan, faces three charges related to a Dec. 1 incident.

According to Washtenaw County court records released on Thursday, Lewan faces three misdemeanors — two counts of assault and battery and one count of aggravated assault — stemming from a fight in Ann Arbor, hours after the Michigan-Ohio State game.

If convicted of the charges, Lewan could face up to 93 days in jail or a fine of up to $500.

Lewan's arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 8.

"I wasn't in a fight, I didn't hit anybody, and I was just trying to help out a situation and break up something, " Lewan told reporters on Dec. 25 in Arizona, a day after the incident was reported. "I can't really go into any more details than that.

"I'm sure the truth will come out, and it will all work out."

Lewan couldn’t be reached for comment Thursday. He is expected to be one of the top offensive linemen selected in the NFL draft in May.
