Perez’s hit lifts Hens to victory over Buffalo

Hernan Perez drove in pinch runner Ben Guez in the top of the 11th inning to help lead the Mud Hens to a 5-4 victory over host Buffalo on Tuesday.

Kevin Whelan (2-0, 0.96 ERA) got the victory for the Hens, pitching two scoreless innings. Starter Duane Below pitched seven innings, giving up four runs and seven hits while striking out three.
