Tigers call up Hens pitcher
Right-hander Chad Smith had pitched 15 games for Toledo
6/18/2014The Tigers called up RHP Chad Smith from Toledo following the Mud Hens’ loss to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Tuesday.
Smith has pitched in 15 games for the Hens this season following his promotion from Double-A Erie April 28. He has a 4-2 record with a 1.64 ERA after striking out 19 and walking just three in 22 innings.
Smith has posted a WHIP of 0.95 with Toledo.
In seven games with the SeaWolves to start the season Smith was 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA.
The Tigers have not announced a move to add Smith to the active roster, and the team also will have to make a move to add him to the 40-man roster.
