The Tigers have acquired left-handed pitcher Daniel Schlereth from Pittsburgh and assigned him to Toledo.

Schlereth pitched for the Mud Hens from 2010-12 and also spent time in parts of all three of those seasons with Detroit before leaving as a minor-league free agent.

This season Schlereth pitched for the Pirates Triple-A team in Indianapolis and was 1-2 with a 7.23 ERA in 21 games.

The 28-year-old, the son of former NFL offensive lineman and current ESPN analyst Mark Schlereth, allowed 18 hits and walked 18 while striking out 18 in 18.2 innings with Indianapolis.
