The title of the event is most definitely tongue-in-cheek, but the cause is serious enough to draw a killer lineup of Toledo musicians.

Sunday at the Village Idiot in Maumee Idiots With Instruments will raise money for musicians, support personnel, and others related to the local music scene to help pay for health-related bills. Josh Whitney, one of the event's organizers and a member of the band the Eight Fifteens, said the goal is to create a trust fund that musicians can apply to when they need help with things like handling a co-pay or other lower cost medical bills.

"It’s a trust to help those supporters or people who are actively involved with or part of the local music community who are suffering from medical conditions and are in need of supplemental funding,” he said.

The event at the 309 Conant St. bar starts at 11 a.m. and continues until 11 p.m., with proceeds going to the trust fund. The artists and their approximate times of performance are: Evan Bates, 11:15 a.m.; Andrew Ellis, 12:05; Mike Fisher, 1; Rick Caswell and the House Band, 1:50; Old State Line, 2:35; Mike Merrit, 3:35; John Barile and Bobby May, 4:45; Bob Rex, 6; Arctic Clam, 7:05; Killer Flamingoes, 8:05; the Eight Fifteens, 9:05, and Dooley Wilson, 10:05.
