DETROIT — Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will visit Detroit to discuss how Michigan residents can enroll in health insurance coverage under the federal health care law.

Sebelius also will talk about the government’s health care website Friday morning at the Community Health and Social Services Center on the city’s southwest side.

Her office says Sebelius will observe efforts to inform people about their options under the health care law that was passed in 2010 by Congress in an effort to provide health insurance to the tens of millions of Americans who do not have coverage.

Implementation has been slow following the Oct. 1 launch date because of problems with the federal health care website. Millions of people were blocked from browsing plans.
