DETROIT — A fire inside a west side Detroit home has killed an elderly husband and wife.
The blaze was reported about 4:30 p.m. Friday.
Battalion Chief Sidney Davis tells the Detroit Free Press that a woman’s body was found on a sofa in the den. Her husband’s body was in a nearby bathroom. Their names were not released.
Davis says a neighbor told firefighters he attempted to rush into the house but was forced out by the heat and smoke.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
