ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A moderate earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.1 was reported Monday night in a seismically active area off the Alaska Peninsula.
The Alaska Earthquake Information Center says the quake reported at 9:07 p.m. Alaska time was felt in Sand Point and Perryville. There were no immediate reports of damage.
The quake was centered about 50 miles south-southeast of Sand Point. That’s 575 miles southwest of Anchorage.
