KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Kalamazoo policed say a 13-year-old Kalamazoo boy was shot after leaving a party on the city’s south side.

The Kalamazoo Gazette and WOOD-TV report that the shooting happened about 11:40 p.m. Saturday.

The Department of Public Safety says the boy was shot in the back. It reports that the boy told investigators he was walking when he heard a gunshot and realized he’d been hit.

The department says an acquaintance drove the teen to Bronson Methodist Hospital, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries and was in stable condition.

Police say there were no immediate arrests.
