DENVER — Authorities are investigating after two men were killed in a small plane crash northeast of Denver.

Sgt. Aaron Pataluna, a spokesman for the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, says the Cessna 150 took off from Front Range Airport early today and was reported missing about three hours later. The wreckage of the plane, which crashed in a field about a mile west of the airport, was found about 9 a.m.

The men, whose names have not been released, were the only two on board.

Pataluna says an investigator with the National Transportation Safety Board is headed to the scene. Dense fog was reported in the area as crews searched for the plane.
