Army: Bergdahl in stable condition, working daily with mental, physical health professionals
6/13/2014SAN ANTONIO — Army officials say Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is in stable condition and working daily with health professionals after being held by the Taliban in Afghanistan for five year.
Maj. Gen. Joseph P. DiSalvo said today that Bergdahl will work daily with mental and medical professionals at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. DiSalvo says there’s no timeline for his reintegration, but that Bergdahl was in stable condition.
The Army also says it’s pleased with Bergdahl’s physical state.
Bergdahl was released last month following five years in captivity in Afghanistan in a controversial prisoner swap with the Taliban. He’d been recovering at an Army facility in Germany. He returned to the U.S. earlier today when he arrived at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston.
