    This takes mostly one form with particular variations: a weekend party with food and drinks.

    The 44th Annual Birmingham Ethnic Festival is no different.

    But it kicks off with everything all at once — and you can bring the kids!

    The “tanchaz”, meaning “dance house” (sounds like “dance” but with “t” plus “kahz”) starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday with a band from Hungary playing traditional folk music, preceding the very popular Waiter Race at 7 p.m.
