“Welcome, friends.”
That’s how we were greeted by our server, Natasha, when we walked in to 419 Tacos. And we were treated like long-time friends throughout our visit as we sampled a variety of frugal favorites from the menu, which offers an enticing array of Mexican street foods that fall within our mandatory Cheap Eats budget of $5 per person.
A simple, satisfying meal could easily be made from the $2.50 rajas taco – filled with roasted poblano pepper, corn, avocado, queso fresco, and crema – along with a plateful of rice or refried beans on the side, also for $2.50. The chips and salsa, served gratis, add crunch and a bit of spice.
WATCH: Tacos and more are on the menu at 419 Tacos, with lots of $5 and under deals.
