Whiteford Township’s third annual Community and Antique Power Days is moving to a new location this year.

The events, slated for Sept. 13-14, will be in the Whiteford-Stoneco Community Park on the corner of Sterns and Whiteford roads. A committee has been working for months to organize events and obtained approval from the township board to use the 96-acre park.

Township Supervisor Walt Ruhl said the change in location will be a good opportunity for the community to showcase the park.

Events will run from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14.

In other township news, the board last week recognized community leader LeRoy Bunge for his decades of community service. Mr. Bunge, 90, has been township clerk, a township trustee, a zoning board of appeals member, and a member of the Whiteford Agricultural Schools Board of Education.

An Army veteran, he also is a Meals on Wheels volunteer and a member of the Ottawa Lake Co-Op. He is a lifelong resident of Whiteford Township.
