News of Art: Cafe, craft show to fill Metroparks Hall at Wildwood

    The Holiday Cafe and Craft Show in Metroparks Hall at Wildwood Preserve Metropark will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Dec. 7-15. Goods fashioned by local crafters will be sold along with snacks.

    Proceeds benefit the Metroparks and have been used to purchase a portable defibrillator machine and fix damage to Metroparks Hall.

    The popular free ArtsX at Bowling Green State University will be 6 to 10 p.m. Dec. 6, featuring students in the musical and visual arts, theater and film, dance, and creative writing programs.     A Chistkindle Market, patterned after the open-air Christmas Markets of Germany, will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 in downtown Port Clinton, Ohio. People will sell their handiworks in decorated stalls in the US Bank parking lot on 2nd Street.

    The Ohio Arts Council with the Columbus Metropolitan Library and the Friends of the Library present the eighth annual Ohio Online Visual Artist Registry exhibition. The registry, an online database, showcases the work of more than 1,200 creatives around the world.

    This juried show with cash prizes includes original art by Ohioans who participate in the registry. The exhibit will be in the Main Library of the Carnegie Gallery in Columbus beginning Wednesday and continuing through Jan. 11.
