Sitcom star brings his comedy show to the Funny Bone

Actor and radio talk show host D.L. Hughley will return to his comedic roots with performances at the Toledo Funny Bone this weekend. Hughley is best known as the star of the ABC/UPN sitcom The Hughleys and as one of the four comedians featured in the Spike Lee film The Original Kings of Comedy. Additionally, he has been the host of CNN's D.L. Hughley Breaks the News, was a correspondent for The Jay Leno Show on NBC, and in early 2013 finished in ninth place on Dancing with the Stars. He currently hosts a nationally syndicated afternoon drive show, The D.L. Hughley Show. Performances at the Funny Bone will begin at 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday and 7 and 10 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $28 and $38 and can be purchased at the Funny Bone box office and at funnybone.com. Guests must be age 21 or older to attend.

■ The Maumee Valley Historical Society will host its annual Antique Show & Sale Saturday and Sunday at the Lucas County Recreation Center. This year's event will feature more than 90 vendors, offering a diversified selection of antiques. The list includes public and private sellers from Michigan, Rhode Island, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Illinois, North Carolina, and all across Ohio. The sale will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $7 and parking is free. Information: 419-893-9602.

■ WWE Smackdown returns to Toledo on Tuesday. Superstars of the ring will battle it out in a wrestling slugfest at the Huntington Center. Tickets for the event, featuring CM Punk, the Shield, Daniel Bryan, Mark Henry, and the Toledo debut of the Wyatt Family, range from $17 to $52 and are available from the box office at 419-321-5007, ticketmaster.com, and at all Ticketmaster outlets. WWE legend Triple H will make a special appearance. The show begins at 7 p.m.
