■ The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team will visit Toledo and take the field for three games on Saturday at the Lucas County Recreation Center. The event, hosted by the Sylvania Senior Softball Association, will feature the travelling team, made up of veterans, post 9/?11, who lost a limb in combat and play with prosthetics. At 12:30 p.m., the team will play the Metro Police and Fire Softball Team. The second game is against Pacesetter Property Mgt/Allshred Services Tournament, an over 50 team, at 3:30 p.m. The final game begins at 7:05 p.m. and will be played against an all-star team of local professional and college sport legends and celebrities. Entertainment and various speakers are lined up between games, and veterans will be honored throughout the day. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. Proceeds will benefit the team and its mission to raise awareness of the sacrifices of our military and to support its annual kids camp for youngsters with amputations or missing limbs. ■ Walking tours of Waterville‘s Historic District will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Robbins House Museum, 114 South River Road. Both Robbins House and the Sargent House Museum will be open from 9 a.m. until noon, with docents from the Waterville Historical Society providing information. Two walking tours will be offered, as well as a longer tour which will include the Third Street business district. Admission to the museum is free but a $1 donation is requested for the illustrated brochure describing the architecture and history of the homes on the walking tour. The museum open houses and walking tours will be offered again on the last Saturday of June, July and August from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Information: 419-878-3425.

■ More than 1,000 runners are expected to turnout for the annual Girls On The Run 5K walk/run Saturday at Fallen Timbers. Of the runners, more than 300 are students from area schools, who participated in a 10-week character development program during the school year. Through exercise, positive reinforcement, interactive activities such as running, playing games, and discussing relevant issues, including bullying and the media, the girls learned to build their self-confidence and support one another. They will celebrate with the run, which is open to the public; runners and walkers of all ages. Activities begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by the race at 9 a.m. and and awards ceremony at 10 a.m. Registration is $25 in advance and $30 the day of, for runners age 13 and older.
