The Town Center at Levis Commons in Perrysburg will look more like a beach this weekend, as tons of sand is brought in and shaped up for the shopping center's annual Sand-tastic! Scores of people turn out for the festival, where artists transform mounds of sand into detailed sculptures and create chalk drawings on sidewalks throughout the plaza. Chalk and graffiti artists from Toledo School for the Arts will decorate the boulevard with colorful works of art and a community sandbox and water table will be stocked with all the necessary tools to build your own masterpiece. A variety of strolling entertainment and live music also will be available at the free event, which runs from noon to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The sculpting team will give a 45-minute demonstration in the sandbox and share their tips for sculpting like a pro at 2 p.m. both days. Information: shopleviscommons.com
