The Scene Spotlight: Nine Lives

Lineup: Jake Pilewski, lead vocals and keys; Mike Haskins, lead guitar; Tim Bauer, keys, guitar, sax, vocals, and harmonica; and Lanny Singleton, bass and vocals Year formed: 2009.

Style of music: Cover band covering seven decades of music and we like to include the audience in sing-alongs and dance-alongs.

Sounds a little like: A live jukebox containing Lady Gaga, the Doors, Garth Brooks, Chuck Berry, Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, and many more to be sure to keep the party going throughout the evening at any venue.

Influences: Everything from the ’50s to today’s Top 40. Rock, blues, country, rap, dance, ’80s, we love it all.

Favorite local venue: Too many to name.

CDs/online releases: We have been featured on a few local compilation CDs and released a four-song demo when we first started.

Upcoming gigs: Friday, Saturday, and Sept. 13 at Camp Fire Grille in Grand Rapids, Ohio; Sept. 20 at Perrysburg’s Harrison Rally Days, and Sept. 26 at Cock ’N Bull.
